1. Purpose
This procedure evaluates the flame resistance characteristics of Anyang wires and cables to verify their ability to inhibit flame propagation and prevent the spread of burning particles under defined conditions. Testing confirms compliance with Anyang Flame Resistance Cable Specifications, applicable industry test methods, and safety agency standards.
2. Methodology
Prepared cable specimens of specified length are fitted with kraft paper indicator flags and mounted vertically within the sealed flame chamber. The test environment is maintained draft-free throughout the procedure.
A calibrated flame is applied directly to the test sample, positioned to allow upward progression toward the indicator flag. Following a specified exposure period, the flame source is removed for a designated recovery interval. This flame application cycle may be repeated multiple times as required by the testing protocol.
Test failure is defined by any of the following conditions: failure to self-extinguish within specified time limits, ignition of chamber bedding by falling burning particles, or combustion of the indicator flag.
