Anyang Cables: A Decade of Breaking Through Barriers

In 2007, five young entrepreneurs in Guangdong started Anyang Cables in a workshop of less than 100 square meters.   At the time, the high-end industrial cable market was dominated by foreign brands, and flexible cables for robotics were not only expensive but also in short supply.   The team traveled across the region with product samples, only to be turned away with responses like, “We've never used flexible cables made in China.”

Undaunted, the team focused intensely on R&D.   That same year, they introduced multi-strand ultra-fine oxygen-free copper weaving technology, developing flexible cables with a bending lifespan three times the industry average—quietly breaking the foreign monopoly.   By 2016, Anyang had achieved ISO9001, UL, and CE certifications, secured over 30 patents, and became China’s first company to participate in drafting national standards for flexible cables.

In 2018, Anyang established its own independent laboratory, where products undergo extreme environment testing as a matter of routine—from temperatures as low as -60℃ to as high as 200℃, to millions of torsion cycle tests.   After three months of intensive R&D, the team successfully solved a critical torsion resistance challenge, creating a cable capable of withstanding 20 million bending cycles—performance on par with German equivalents.   This breakthrough led to partnerships with global industry leaders such as Rockwell Automation, Bosch, and Siemens.

By the time Anyang’s own production base in Shunde launched in 2021, the company had grown to 150 employees, 30% of whom were technical professionals, and held 35 patents.   Its product line expanded into the new energy sector, where its ultra-soft silicone rubber cables became specialized solutions for photovoltaic and energy storage systems.   Anyang’s commitment to green manufacturing also earned it the “5A Integrity and Quality Enterprise” award.

Today, Anyang cables are deployed in wind farms and data centers around the world.   Guided by the philosophy of “Focus on Excellence for Distant Aspirations,” the company has transformed from a local startup into an industry benchmark—contributing its share to the story of “Created in China.”
